I recently read in Houstonia Mag that 8th Wonder Brewery and Distilling has been acquired by Bayou City Hemp Co. The article gave me a flashback to photographing Ryan Soroka at 8th Wonder for the University of Houston, Bauer College’s Inside Bauer Magazine, back in 2018 (and another time previously for an ad). So I wanted to share a set of my favorite environmental portraits and editorial images.

Lots of nostalgia and nods to the city are built into the decor of this brew house, as well as into the names of each beer. The space has great natural light, which I always love for making portraits, and a fun vibe too…whether working on a photo job :) or hanging out before an Astros or Dynamo game (just a few blocks’ walk).
